Reflection on Running a Marathon free essay sample

The senior project I chose to do, was to compete in the John Muir Woods Marathon. I decided to run this marathon because running has always been a passion of mine, and I wanted to take it to the next level and compete in an official marathon. In training for the marathon, I learned self discipline, endurance, and how to have stamina. I also learned, that a marathon (26. 2 miles) is a lot longer than it actually seems! I was able to raise a total of $336. 0 towards the Danny Zabicki Foundation. Running a marathon was both the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. Although I knew that it would be a very long course, it lasted a lot longer than I had anticipated, and I was definitely not expecting so many stairs and hills in the run. I knew that the race would consist of 4,400 feet of climbing and descending, but until I actually started running the course, that number didn’t mean much to me.
